Who is Kava?
Kava Honey is a five-year-old golden retriever who controls lives with Alli and Dylan.
Why is her name Kava?
Alli and Dylan met in Fiji in 2018 while attending a Tony Robbins event. On the last night of the event, they drank kava, a traditional Fijian drink used in ceremonies and rituals. Kava’s effects are similar to that of alcohol. They named their pup “Kava” as a testament to their relationship and with the hopes she would be chill, like her namesake. (She is, in fact, not chill.)

Why a golden retriever?
Alli had a golden retriever growing up named Riggins, so she always loved the breed. As a kid, Dylan was obsessed with Air Bud and his favorite toy was a golden retriever stuffed animal named Buddy.
What are some of Kava’s quirks?
Kava is a retriever through and through. She encourages Alli and Dylan to keep a clean home by stealing anything they leave on the floor. She prefers TV remotes, headphones, hair scrunchies, and paper. She is very clingy, but she pretends to be independent by carrying her leash in her mouth while on walks.
Where is Kava’s favorite place?
Kava loves romping on the dog-friendly beaches of Hilton Head Island. She swims, sprints, and chases the birds.
Will Kava be at the wedding?
Yes! Kava will be the Pup of Honor at the wedding. Alli and Dylan can’t imagine starting the next chapter of their lives without their best friend by their sides.
Can I feed Kava?
Please do not feed Kava any table food. She has many allergies that will make her break out in hives and hot spots, which is very painful for her (and will prevent Alli and Dylan from going on their honeymoon).
Kava will have a sitter at the wedding. If you’d like to give Kava a treat, her dog-sitter will have plenty of treats on-hand to spoil the pup.
Can I play with Kava at the wedding?
Feel free to play with Kava, take pictures with her, and enjoy her company! She’s the sweetest girl and would never hurt a fly. (In fact, she’s scared of flies.) However, if she gets the zoomies, you’re required to run alongside her. Sorry, we don’t make the rules.
